A long-term injury to Elliott Bennett means that he is replaced in the team by Alex Tetty. Whereas new signing Leroy Fer comes into the team in place of Wes Hoolahan. Nathan Redmond and Ricky van Wolfswinkel keep their spots in the starting lineup, while Hughton has named an unchanged back five. And to the substitutes for the Canaries... NORWICH BENCH: Bunn, Snodgrass, Elmander, Becchio, Hoolahan, Olsson, R Bennett New boy Johan Elmander, who was signed on loan from Galatasaray during the week, starts on the bench alongside other attacking threats Robert Snodgrass, Luciano Becchio and Martin Olsson.
Brady runs up and just pushes the ball into the bottom left corner and sends Ruddy the wrong way. Brady waited for the stopper to commit before guiding it into the back of the net. Advantage Hull. After a shaky start, Hull are well on top now at the KC Stadium. They looked a bit nervous early on as Norwich continued to flood forward, but they are in the mood now. RED CARD! Hull’s good start has just taken a turn for the worse as Yannick Sagbo is shown a straight red card by the referee. The incident went unnoticed among the large majority of the fans and players, but it’s for an incident off the ball.
Norwich City v Hull City: David Wagner Championship team
Could be a delightful day to be from the city. The two teams are in the tunnel and will be shortly stepping out onto the field. Hull and Norwich make their way onto the pitch to a massive roar from the KC Stadium PA. It's a wonderful atmosphere in the stadium. As far as kits are concerned. Hull are wearing that orange and black striped shirts with black shorts and socks. Norwich are sporting their away kit which is white shirts with black sleeves, black shorts and white socks.
The PA guy is really doing his nut at the moment, he is literally just screaming down the microphone. It's working though, there's a great noise at the KC Stadium. Hull will have kickoff. KICK OFF! Sagbo and Brady get the game underway. CHANCE! Norwich have the first chance of the match and it's new boy Leroy Fer who goes close. The Canaries enjoy some lovely football and Van Wolfswinkel slots Howson down the right of the box, he gives it back to Whittaker who floats the ball to the far post. Fer gets to the ball first at the back but can only head it wide of the near post.
Garrido over the ball. Floated in by Garrido, but McGregor decides to come and catch the ball. Good goalkeeping. Two minutes of added time to go. Brady turns on the left from about 30 yards out and thinks "why not?! " before slamming an effort towards the top corner. The shot doesn't trouble Ruddy at all though, and heads over for a goal kick. Livermore brings down Redmond right on the edge of the box. Brilliant chance for Norwich, and this will be the last chance of the half. The kick is about 25 yards out to the left of the D, Garrido and Redmond are the options.
They will be desperate for goals today. As for Norwich, they aren't particularly great on the road. Their win over Manchester City at the Etihad on the final day of last season was their first away victory in 10 matches. And that was only one of two wins away from Carrow Road last year, the joint lowest in the top flight. They have since added to their attacking threat with the likes of Gary Hooper and Van Wolfswinkel. You can expect a busy day for John Ruddy in the Norwich goal as well today.
