Netflix's Kill Boksoon: Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else We Know Movie
Here is everything we know about Netflix's new movie Kill Boksoon.
Netflix is back again with yet another thrilling Korean movie Kill Boksoon. The Berlin-bound film is highly anticipated considering it’ll first premiere at the 73rd International Film Festival. Over the past few years, Korean films and dramas have gained immense popularity and a strong footing in the international market. Kill Boksoon, by the looks of it, the director and the cast will add to the existing collection of top-notch Korean entertainment.
Not only this but the over the past years there has also been an increase in quality movies in the thriller genre. Alongside horror, the most visible development in terms of storylines, direction, and cinematography has been seen here. Kill Boksoon with its cast and bloody storyline aims to continue this rise of thriller entertainment.
The story of Kill Boksoon shows a mother, Gil Boksoon, who is trying to balance her job and teenage daughter. The catch? She is a professional contract killer. A difficult job to explain anyway. The official date announcement trailer released by Netflix gives that much away with Gil Boksoon telling someone, in what seems to be a greenhouse, that she works for an event planning company. The next frame shows the true nature of her job. Boksoon is seen handling a case full of spy weapons.
Following this, she also confesses the irony of her job while raising a child while sipping her beverage as her employer looks on. A job she also believes to be easier than raising a child. There is some sadness in the statement as well. A life where killing others on a contract basis for money is easy. The following frames show Boksoon in her element, doing what she does best. Her job.
Overall, despite the gravity of the storyline which seems similar in its depth to Netflix’s My Name, the trailer still gives out a playful energy. Meaning that the action movie will have its playful moments as well to alleviate some of the tension of the subject matter, that is, the multiple killings and what seems to be a constrained mother-daughter relationship.
While her beliefs stand strong and she has a spotless track record with her company, she finds it hard to bring herself to renew her contract and continue with a job of this kind. Now, she wants to focus her attention on her daughter and what it is that is bothering her. In the trailer itself, she is also seen wearing a uniform for a normal job at a store. Is it a new job or a disguise for a new contract killing? One will have to tune in when it premieres on Netflix to find out.
The poster that was revealed alongside the trailer shows Boksoon walking on the barrel of a gun. It is a comic-style poster giving an insight into what to expect. A lot of weapons and bloodshed alongside a smidge of sentimentality. The poster also features a bloody pair of scissors, a katana, and an axe.
